About

dougHi, I’m Doug Mahugh, and this is my personal web site where I blog about photography, technology, sled dogs (especially Jamie and Alice!), hiking, travel, and anything else that interests me. I’ve had this site since November 1995, as a static HTML site for the first 10 years, then as a blog since 2005. You can also find me on Facebook, FlickrLinkedIn and Twitter.

I love to take photos, and I carry a Nikon D800 with me almost every day, at home or work or on the road. My current favorite lens is the Nikon 14-24mm F/2.8, and I’m also a big fan of the Nikon 70-200mm F/2.8 VR II and many Nikon prime lenses, especially the 85mm F/1.4.

This site is about my personal interests, and I also blog about open source, open standards and interoperability topics on the MS Open Tech web site or on my Microsoft blog. I love to find simple and straightforward ways to communicate complex technical topics, and my job as a Technical Evangelist gives me many opportunities to do exactly that. Here are a few examples:

Blog posts: Standards-Based Interoperability1 + 2 = 1?Tracked Changes
