the drive across Washington on I-90 offers a wide range of scenery, from the Ponderosa Pines and basalt outcroppings of the Spokane area to the fertile fields of Adams County, across the mighty Columbia River and up through the Cascade Mountains via Snoqualmie Pass, then down through Issaquah and Bellevue to Seattle and Puget Sound. And one of the most striking scenes along the way is a spot just a couple of miles off the highway that very few people ever stop to see: the Old Vantage Highway.
The photo album below shows how to get there and what you’ll see when you arrive. It’s one of my favorite places in Washington, and it’s easy to get to and accessible all year round. Highly recommended.
