Origin of the boop

JamieFish-JenComment A trivia question for friends of Jamie Samoyed: who first labeled that move a “boop” in the well-known triptych of Jamie and Fish?

As you can see in the image on the right (click for a closer view), Jen Swift posted “You booped him!” within minutes of the photo being posted. And with her “boop” theme as a caption, that photo has now gone viral, thanks to Frogman and his fans as well as many others. Look what you’ve started, Jen! :)

I went back this evening and looked up the original posting of those photos, within minutes of taking them the morning of 10/7/2010, two weeks before we got Alice …

Here’s a link to the original image on Jamie’s timeline, which as of the screen capture above (5/8/2013) had just 13 likes in over 2 years: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=156273657737003&set=a.117064691657900.11879.116473531717016&type=3&theater

And here’s a link to a copy posted on Facebook today, one of thousands over the last couple of years: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=298320753635448&set=a.225821977551993.57130.225820234218834&type=1&theater

The second link has over 13,000 likes and over 6,000 shares so far … in less than 24 hours.

Another bit of trivia not many folks would remember: the original caption was “I’ve figured out that Fish can’t actually kill me, he he he.”
