We had an unexpected bit of good weather on Wednesday. It was sunny in the morning for a walk around Hyde Park and brief visit to Buckingham Palace (which I predictably found amusing and underwhelming, as I do all things related to royalty and wealth), and then grew cloudy and dark in the afternoon, which we mostly spent in pubs. The sun came back out in the evening, so we headed over to the London Eye to get a view of the city.
My favorite photos from day 2 …
A glimpse of the Prince Albert memorial and Royal Albert Hall, from Hyde Park:
Squirrel at Hyde Park, pint of cider at the Coal Hole on the Strand:
Tourists watching the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace, including at least one American:
Photos from our trip up the London Eye:
And my two faves from that experience:
A few others from Wednesday evening, including the Palace of Westminster and the Big Ben clock tower:

Doug,
I enjoyed the pictures and am glad you and Megan sound like you are having a relaxing time. I have never been on the Eye–if I get back to London sometime, i want to do that. Tom an d family are coming for lunch today.
A great reminder that every litlte bit of exercise adds up. In July I started getting out of the office for a walk at lunch (yes, tearing myself away from my desk even on busy days) and I’ve benefited in many ways. Starting next week, I’m also walking home with a colleague three days a week. This will add up to over two hours of additional exercise each week and we’re hoping to keep it up all winter too.
